The Making of Mardi Gras

My experience at Mardi Gras World was very cool! I was very intrigued by the props Kern Studios creates and their process. I also enjoyed learning the history of Mardi Gras and understanding the importance of floats during the Mardi Gras season and its importance towards krewe organizations and the community. One thing I learned on my tour is Kern’s studios involvement with the krewes. During the tour, it was explained the krewe members come to Kern studios with all their ideas about colors and props and everything needed to make their floats spectacular. Kern studios creates rough drafts of the organizations’ vision and include a draft with color to get a visual representation of the final product. I really like how Kern studios allow the organizations to express their culture the way they would like. Also, besides creating floats Kern studios makes the cow for Chick-fil-a and the M&M heads which shows the studios’ talents besides their creations for just Mardi Gras. Everyone should get the opportunity to visit Mardi Gras world! It has made me excited to see the parades and celebrate!
